MAHA Brake Testing

Our Warrington workshop now features a fully refurbished MAHA brake tester.
This allows Bibby Commercials to carry out brake testing to DVSA/VOSA standards.

Because of our convenient location and large workshop, we are able to test a wide range of vehicles, including:

​

  • small vans

  • large HGVs

  • cranes

  • off-road vehicles

  • low loaders

  • trailers

  • buses

  • coaches

  • shuttles

  • airside vehicles

We also offer a collection and delivery service, removing the hassle of keeping your fleet tested and compliant.

Are you compliant?

HGV brake testing is one of the most crucial aspects of any preventative maintenance system.
Every safety inspection must assess the braking performance of a vehicle or trailer.

​

It is strongly recommended that each safety inspection includes testing on a calibrated roller brake tester, which measures individual brake performance and overall braking efficiency.

​

It is acceptable to use an approved, calibrated decelerometer for vehicles without trailers to measure overall brake efficiency.

​

Road tests are allowed — but if they are the only method used, they are considered inadequate.

​

Typically, a vehicle should complete at least three successful brake efficiency tests per year, in addition to the MOT test.

​

DVSA issued formal guidance on this in April 2016.

​
